GRAILS has no accounts and takes no payments. We do not sell data. Here is what the site collects, and why.

Visit statistics

We count visits with Umami, a statistics tool we run ourselves on grails.fit. It uses no cookies. It records the page, the site you came from, your browser, device type and country, and events like a click on a Buy button, a search or opening Ask. Umami works out the country from your IP address, but does not store the address.

To count visitors who come back on another day, the site keeps a random ID in your browser and sends it with one event per visit. It is not linked to your name or to any account.

Saved in your browser

The site saves a few things in your browser's local storage, not on our server:

You can delete all of this at any time: clear the site data for grails.fit in your browser.

Ask

When you use Ask, your question, the last messages of the conversation and the piece you are looking at are sent to our server. To write the answer, the server sends the question and a short list of pieces to an AI service (Groq, or DeepSeek as a backup). Answers are kept in a cache for up to 7 days, so the same question gets the same answer. Please do not put personal details in a question.

QC check and search by photo

Photos you add are made smaller and sent to an AI service (Anthropic, or Google Gemini as a backup), which describes them. We do not store the photos. We keep a short log of the result, like the item name and the verdict, with a code made from your IP address (not the address itself), to check how well the tools work.

Ratings

When you rate a seller or a piece, we store the stars and tags. We also store your browser's random ID and your IP address, both only as one-way codes (hashes), so one person cannot rate the same thing many times.

Giveaways

When a giveaway is open, you can enter by signing in with Discord. Discord asks you first. We then get your Discord ID, user name and the date your Discord account was made, and you are added to the GRAILS Discord server. We use this only for the giveaway.

Server logs and limits

Like every website, our server and Cloudflare see your IP address and browser when you load a page. We use the IP address to stop abuse, for example to limit how many questions or photo checks one visitor can send in a day.

What GRAILS does not do

The GRAILS Companion browser extension has its own page: extension privacy.

Write to us in the GRAILS Discord. We have no accounts, so we usually cannot link any data to you. If you want something removed, tell us what it is.
