Reps glossary
The words you see in rep Discords, spreadsheets and agent sites, in plain English, each with the GRAILS tool for it.
- Reps
- Replica clothing, shoes and accessories, made or stocked by independent sellers in China and bought through a shopping agent.
- Seller
- The shop that makes or stocks the pieces, usually on Weidian, Taobao or Yupoo. GRAILS ranks 276 sellers by the GRAILS Score: best rep sellers.
- Shopping agent (agent)
- A service in China that buys the piece from the seller for you, checks it, takes QC photos and ships it to your country. Examples: ZentBuy, KakoBuy. Compare them: agent comparison.
- Weidian, Taobao, 1688
- The Chinese marketplaces where sellers list their pieces. Differences and numbers: Taobao vs Weidian vs 1688.
- Yupoo
- A photo album site that sellers use as a catalogue. There is no checkout on Yupoo: each album links to the seller's Weidian or Taobao listing, and that link is what you give your agent.
- Spreadsheet
- A list of finds with photos, prices and buy links for one agent. Example: the ZentBuy spreadsheet.
- Finds
- Pieces people recommend, usually with a link and a price.
- W2C
- "Where to cop": a request for where to buy a piece. Search any brand or item on GRAILS.
- QC (quality check), QC photos
- Photos the agent takes of your piece when it reaches their warehouse, before you pay for shipping. Look up QC photos for any link: QC finder.
- GL / RL
- Green light / red light: your answer after QC. GL means keep and ship it, RL means ask for a return or exchange.
- Haul
- Several pieces shipped together in one parcel. One bigger parcel usually costs less per piece than several small ones.
- Batch
- One production version of a piece. Different factories or runs of the same design can differ in quality and price.
- Budget, mid, top
- Price levels. GRAILS marks every piece Budget, Normal or Best from its price.
- 1:1
- A seller's claim that a piece looks exactly like retail. Treat it as a claim and check the QC photos.
- Legit check (LC)
- Checking whether a seller or a piece can be trusted. Check a seller link: seller check.
- Link converter
- A tool that turns a Weidian, Taobao, 1688 or agent link into the same item on another agent: converter.
- Shipping line
- The delivery route and carrier the agent offers for your parcel. Prices and days per country: shipping compare.
- Volumetric weight
- A weight based on the parcel's size. Carriers bill the volumetric weight when it is higher than the real weight, so bulky jackets can cost more to ship than they weigh.
- Storage
- The free days an agent keeps your items in their warehouse before you ship them.
- Rehearsal
- A service on some agents: they pack your parcel and send photos and the final weight before you pay for shipping.
- Declared value
- The value written on the customs form for your parcel. Customs rules by country, from official sources: customs by country.
- Seized
- Customs stopped the parcel. What happens next, by country: my parcel was seized.
- Tracking number
- The code to follow your parcel after it leaves the agent: track a parcel.
- Coupon, sign-up bonus
- Discounts agents give new accounts, mostly for shipping. Example: ZentBuy 40% off first shipping. All agents: coupons.
