Customs: Germany

Reps customs in Germany

Since 1 July 2026 parcels from outside the EU pay a flat €3 duty per goods category plus import VAT of 19% (7% for some goods), usually handled by the post or courier, who may add a service fee. German customs (Zoll) say that buying even one fake item for private use from an online shop counts as trade, so customs can act on it. For small parcels you get 10 working days to respond, and no response counts as agreement to destruction.

You have one month to object to a destruction decision; against a national confiscation (Einziehung) you have two weeks. The local Hauptzollamt decides.
